Electrical Exam Prep
This is heart of Griffin Code Consulting. Several years ago, I began teaching National Electrical Code classes at a local community college. In addition to the entry level students, my classes began to fill with more advanced students looking for help in passing the electrical contractors exam. I started talking to people who had failed the test and found where the trouble areas were. I began to compile feedback from those students and it wasn't long before I could anticipate the types of questions that would be seen on the exam.
I take great pleasure in removing the mystery from the N. C. Electrical Contractors Exam. I nor anyone else, regardless of claims being made can provide you with exact test questions, but I will show you the types of questions that you will see on the exam with examples of each. I will also remove the smoke and mirrors aspect of the test by showing you types of trap questions. These are the questions that make you feel confident as you’re taking the test, only to receive a disappointing score in the end.
I offer a 30 hour exam preparation class, typically 1 night a week for 10 weeks. Weekend classes are available. The greatest emphasis will be placed on calculations. This is by far the area that costs most people a passing score. I will simplify motor, service, grounding, box and conduit fill calculations. Test taking techniques as well as the layout of the NEC will also be covered.
