Exam Preparation Classes
Electrical Exam Prep
A 30 hour electrical exam preparation class, typically 1 night a week for 10 weeks. Weekend classes are available. The greatest emphasis will be placed on calculations. This is by far the area that costs most people a passing score. We will simplify motor, service, grounding, box and conduit fill calculations. Test taking techniques as well as the layout of the NEC will also be covered.

With the recent requirements by the Department of Insurance mandating Continuing Education for all Code Enforcement Official’s, it has become important for classes to be offered that actually teach as opposed to those who only guide you through mindless questions that do little to explore the National Electrical Code. If Continuing Education is nothing more than paying to receive a certain number of hours, then what purpose does it serve? Griffin Code Consulting puts the emphasis on education. Remember, if nothing was learned it was because nothing was taught.
Griffin Code Consulting offers courses that can be taught at your Inspection Department or at off site locations. The Department of Insurance is currently reviewing the guidelines for online courses and upon their approval we will offer such courses in the future. Feel free to contact Griffin Code with any Continuing Education needs. |
While Griffin Code has been approved for some time to conduct Continuing Education for Electrical Contractors, it has been a very small part of Griffin Code Consulting. We have not nor do We plan to develop a mail order type test that provides Continuing Education Credits. While there are several of these readily available that do a good job, we prefer to teach in the classroom.
The N. C. Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors has recently ruled that effective 2008, at least 50% of Continuing Education Credits must come from a classroom setting. If this ruling holds fast, we will have the necessary courses available to serve the needs of the Electrical Contractors at that time. Please do not hesitate to contact Griffin Code Consulting to discuss your Continuing Education needs. |
