Brandon Oaks has recently and very quickly become a vandalism target for teens who are hanging out at night in the park, streets and sports center. YOUR children are vandalizing OUR neighborhood and starting fires in the streets. One family with their young children was recently plowed off the side walk into the street while taking a walk with their young children.
To the parents of these teens,
Do not let your child hang out in the parking lots and streets. Supervise your children and find something productive for them to do. Especially at night. Please take responsibility for your children by supervising them at all times. Teach them right from wrong. If you do not have time to supervise them at all times, take turns with other parents or put your children into an organized, supervised activity that they can put their energy into in a positive manor.
To the residents,
Do not take matters into your own hands. When you see teens hanging out in large groups do not wait for trouble. Instead try to prevent it by calling the police immediately. Ask them to show a presence and send these kids home or to a supervised location. Demand that our streets be patrolled regularly.
